Defrosting...
Last night I went to bed feeling ill and couldn't get to sleep until about 3ish. Then, at about 3:30, I find myself standing outside in the wind and the cold wearing nothing but my nighty, dressing-gown and slippers. Basically - not amused.
The worst thing about the incident was the motive behind it. It's the Lambrini Queen's birthday today, and "The Gang" were meant to collect her at about 12 yesterday. She was still waiting for them to call at 5:30. The general theory that's being discussed in the kitchen is that they pulled the stunt to make up for their obvious neglect of L-Q. This was made pretty clear when they started to sing "Happy Birthday" when she came out of the building, and she came bounding up to us, fully dressed and blatantly drunk, screaming "It's my birthday - I know who did it but I can't tell because they'll kill me!" So mature for a 19 year old undergraduate.
I had to defrost my legs before I could finally get some sleep, and about five hours later I had to get up and start the day. It wasn't too bad. My talk with my creative writing tutor went well, my English Literature lecture was cancelled and the seminar in the afternoon wasn't too bad.
I wasn't very hungry this evening so I had soup and toast. I'm quite lucky that I haven't become addicted to it again - that's what usually happens when I'm working but also in a home environment.
All in all a decidedly better situation than Wednesday.
